Irish Setters are generally healthy dogs with few overall health problems. The quick buttons to the left are the most common ailments associated with the Irish Setter.  Of these, many can be reduced or eliminated by selective breeding and genetic testing.  Other ailments listed on this site are not to be considered commonplace specifically to the Irish Setter.  All dog breeds, including mixed breeds, can be affected by these various ailments.
